Production Staff
Position Overview:
Production Staff is an entry-level position that assists in the production and installation of the full variety of our shop’s offerings, including daily retail orders, multiple weekly event orders from small receptions to large-scale weddings, galas and corporate events, and rental orders including linens and décor items. There are a variety of focus areas within this position, which can be tailored to an individual’s interests and strengths.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation, packing, loading, delivering, installing and picking-up all necessary inventory for any event orders including but not limited to fresh floral arrangements, props and décor items, linens, fabric draping, large-scale rental pieces, lighting, and other items.
- Drive vehicles to and from events and venues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure safe and professional deliveries and pick-ups.
- Manage storage, organization, and use of all inventory, supplies, and equipment in the facility working carefully to minimize damage and breakages.
- Work with team members to ensure events are executed according to order details.
- Help with floral processing, preparation, storage, and packaging.
Assist with routine and as needed facility cleaning and upkeep. - Develop thorough knowledge of inventory, common practices, installation and strike procedures including various venue policies and standards.
Interact and communicate courteously and effectively with venue/vendor contacts and clients as required during event delivery, installation, strike, and pick up. - Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to work as a team player and follow management’s direction/input.
- Ability to work independently to complete work orders and uphold procedures.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and effective order, with regard to maintaining an efficient and purposeful pace and meeting any time constraints or deadlines.
- Capacity to troubleshoot, multi-task, and use logical thinking to problem-solve.
- Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness of one’s immediate workspace and surrounding areas.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and means of transportation, and proof of applicable vehicle insurance.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to carry 20-50 pounds throughout a work shift and work on your feet for extended periods of time (typically the majority of a work day).
- Knowledge of general hand tools, small equipment, ladders, carts, etc.
- Must be comfortable working on a ladder.
- Availability to work weekend days and late-night weekend evenings in addition to weekdays.
- Experience in the event or floral industry preferred, but not required. Potential to advance to “Event Installer” position will be evaluated during initial months training on the job and is dependent on candidate work ethic and demeanor, development of skills and technique, and availability.
Compensation: Hourly, starting at $16/hour. Amendable to seasonal needs; part time and full time positions available.
Event Installer
Position Overview:
Event Installer is an advanced position from Production Staff that assists in the production and installation of multiple weekly event orders from small receptions to large-scale weddings, galas and corporate events, with an emphasis on specialty installations, technique, and attention to detail. There are a variety of focus areas within this position, which can be tailored to an individual’s interests and strengths along with the capacity to act in a leadership role when on-site for set ups and pick ups.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation, packing, loading, delivering, installing and picking-up all necessary inventory for any event orders including but not limited to fresh floral arrangements, props and décor items, linens, fabric draping, large-scale rental pieces, lighting, and other items.
- Complete customized installations such as arches, arbors, pipe and drape, ceiling treatments and decorations, decorative lighting, fresh flowers and greenery displays, and more.
- Drive vehicles to and from events and venues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure safe and professional deliveries and pick-ups.
- Manage storage, organization, and use of all inventory, supplies, and equipment in the facility working carefully to minimize damage and breakages.
- Work with and lead team members as appropriate to ensure events are executed according to order details.
- Help with floral processing, preparation, storage and cooler maintenance, and packaging.
- Assist with routine and as needed facility cleaning and upkeep.
- Develop thorough knowledge of inventory, common practices, installation and strike procedures including various venue policies and standards.
- Interact and communicate courteously and effectively with venue/vendor contacts and clients as required during event delivery, installation, strike, and pick up.

- Availability to work weekend days and late-night weekend evenings in addition to weekdays.
Experience in the event or floral industry preferred, but not required. If no prior experience, an Event Installer would begin in the Production Staff role and could be advanced upon training and determining competency and best fit.

RECEPTIONIST / CLIENT SERVICE
Position Overview:
Our Receptionist is to act as a Client Service Specialist, assisting with retail and event customer communication, orders, maintenance of front showroom, and administrative tasks such as invoicing and entry bookkeeping.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- General Reception & Client Service: Open and close storefront, greet and assist customers, answer phones and transfer as needed, schedule appointments, and take orders in person, by phone, and through website. Assist customers with pick ups and rental customers with returns.
- Retail Sales: Maintain front showroom, assist with seasonal displays, price plants and retail merchandise, and contribute to development of promotions. Facilitate execution of online orders as well as new and updated product offerings.
- Administrative Assistance: Conduct e-mail and phone correspondence with clients and vendors regarding initial inquiries, pricing requests, scheduling appointments, and payments. Maintain accurate records and organization of client orders, contracts, and payments, including hard copies and entries into digital platforms such as Quickbooks, Details, etc. Input new event sales and documents, assist with preparing and updating estimates/proposals and invoices and other company resources in Dropbox, Google apps, Word, Excel, or other Microsoft documents, etc.
- General Bookkeeping: Assist with generation of invoices, billing, tracking and input of payments and orders, and follow up on open accounts. Handle cash payments and reconcile cash drawer and deposits.
- Prepare enclosure cards, funeral script, labels, boxes, packaging, and branded components for retail and wedding work.
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee appearance and maintenance of front room and studio including organization, cleanliness, and bringing necessary repairs or improvements to ownership and management’s attention. Keep meeting room presentable and assist with setting display tables for upcoming samples, workshops, or other uses as scheduled.
- Potential for Marketing Duties as developed: Photography, website, blog, and social media projects. Promote retail sales, special events, and general company branding campaigns.
- With training, move to screen clientele, with ability to meet, quote, book, and facilitate funeral and smaller scale event orders.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to work as a team player and follow management’s direction/input.
- Ability to independently complete tasks in a timely manner and effective order, with regard to maintaining an efficient and purposeful pace and meeting any time constraints or deadlines, while also upholding company standards.
- Work with designers for quick, efficient, and artful fulfillment of orders and customer requests. Awareness and management of order pick up and delivery times, including routing, sending out, and communicating with drivers.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
- Capacity to troubleshoot, multi-task, and use logical thinking to problem-solve.
- Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness of one’s immediate workspace, designated studio areas, and surrounding environment.
- Familiarity and skill working with standard office software programs including basic Microsoft Office products, email, and web-based applications such as Google apps. Specific training on company/industry software or apps will be given. Experience with Quickbooks, WordPress website editing, Cricuit, or other specialty technologies is advantageous.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and means of transportation, and proof of applicable vehicle insurance.
- Ability to carry 20-50 pounds throughout a work shift and work on your feet for extended periods of time. *This position will primarily operate from our dedicated front desk and computer, however, will float through workspaces as necessary to assist customers, complete orders, and fill in with behind the scenes projects during down time.
- Availability to work Saturdays in addition to weekdays.
Compensation: Hourly or Salary, pending anticipated schedule and workload. Amendable to seasonal needs; part-time and full-time positions available.
